Architecture Classes
2017_18

Designed for The Centre for Talented Youth Ireland at the DCU campus, these classes were 1-3hrs long, delivered in a formal educational setting and ranged over 3-7 weeks for ages 6-13yrs.

The classes were structured in an engaging way, with some theory followed by related practical activities. Students were encouraged to discuss the material presented to them and to work collaboratively on practical tasks.

Content included introduction to the idea of Shelter, forces and structures, principles of design, reciprocal frames, drawing for architecture and city design and planning. Building paper towers and model huts, designing holiday cabins, creating our own geodesic domes and a miniature cityscape along with lots more discussion and experimentation.
